Application of titanium alloy in ship equipment

Ships are one of the most important Marine equipment,the hull parts immersed in seawater for a long time are easily corroded, so the standard for the use of ship materials is relatively high, requiring excellent strength, toughness and corrosion resistance in Marine environment. In the actual manufacturer process, the material also needs to have excellent machining ability and welding ability. Titanium alloy can fully meet the requirements of ship materials, and has a good  prospect for development. Using titanium material can reduce the quality of the hull, solve the problem of corrosion, and ensure the impact resistance and fatigue resistance, thus extending the service life of the ship.Instead of stainless steel or copper nickel alloy, titanium alloy used to manufacture heat exchanger, condenser, propulsion shaft and propeller of ship power system can greatly improve the service life and safety reliability of the power system. In 1985, Japan built an all-titanium yacht, becoming the world's first all-titanium ship.
