Classification of surface treatment of titanium and titanium alloy materials

For titanium ores, titanium exists in a very stable condition. If the titanium ore is refined into unstable titanium metal and the appearance has not been processed in any way, then the appearance of titanium metal often exists in a particularly unstable condition.However, in order to satisfy the needs of production skills, it is necessary to deal with the appearance of metals and their titanium alloys so that they can reach a stable appearance with certain functions, which requires the selection of appearance disposal skills.In the first place, it can be roughly divided into the following general appearance disposal methods according to physical methods and chemical methods.

1.Appearance disposal

(1) External heat treatment

①The appearance is hardened;

② Exterior carburizing, nitriding, carbon-nitrogen co-infiltration ~ atmosphere;

渗Metal seepage.

(2) Chemical disposal (chemical conversion film): The methods for making and maintaining the film by chemical methods on the outer surface of the metal include oxidation, blanching or blackening, phosphating, passivation, chromium salt disposal, etc.

(3) Cleaning and disposal: mechanical finishing, chemical cleaning, ultrasonic cleaning, laser cleaning, etc.

2.Mechanical hardening treatment of appearance

(1) Cold work hardening;

(2) Rolling method;

(3) Shot peening and hardening.

3.EDM surface treatment

(1) EDM alloying of the outer surface;

(2) Micro-arc oxidation;

(3) Disposal of the appearance of EDM accumulation;

(4) Electric spark discharge hardening;

(5) Electron beam surface treatment;

(6) Plasma spraying;

(7) Laser surface treatment.

4.Exterior coating

(1) Mechanical coating: brushing, spraying, dipping, and spraying (organic coating);

(2) Chemical coating: electroless plating, gilt, chemical vapor accumulation, liquid accumulation, etc.;

(3) Thermal coating method: hot-dip (hot-dip galvanized), thermal spraying of metal or non-metal;

(4) Electro-coating and chemical coating: electroplating, electrophoresis, electrostatic spraying, physical vapor accumulation, electroless plating, melt plating, dispersed immersion plating, etc.;

(5) Coating: Use rubber and synthetic resin to coat a thick layer of maintenance film on the outer surface of the metal in order to maintain the metal.

(6) Paint coating: It is the most generally implemented method. This method is implemented with the intention of preventing corrosion and damage. It has a limit of several years.
