On August 22, the industry's largest 100MN Simak four-column pull-down quick forging unit completed its first hot test run at Tiancheng Aviation Materials, successfully forging a 711×711×1423mm TC4 billet with a single weight of 3t and a 380×1300×2792mm TA3 billet with a single weight of 6t, marking a new stage in the company's forging technology and production capacity.

The equipment is manufactured by the German industrial giant Simak Group and is currently one of the largest and most advanced quick forging units introduced in the field of titanium alloys in China.The total weight of the equipment is about 2800t, and it can produce titanium and titanium alloy forgings with a maximum length of 14000mm, a maximum width of 4000mm, and a maximum height of 4000mm.The equipment has a high degree of automation and strong carrying capacity, which can meet the preparation needs of titanium alloys of different specifications and forms such as plates, cakes, rods, rings, cylinders, etc., and fill the technical gaps in the production of oversized forgings in our country.

The 10,000-ton Simak quick forging unit is one of the heavy equipment in the third phase of Tiancheng Aviation Materials Technical reform. The equipment has a large weight, many components, complex installation, and extremely high infrastructure requirements.Tiancheng Aviation Materials, together with the project team composed of China San'an, Tianjin Tianduan and other partners, worked together to overcome many difficulties and started construction in August 2021. It took one year to complete all the work of pile foundation, civil construction, installation, test run, etc., and successfully completed the installation task, once again demonstrating Tiancheng Aviation Materials' high degree of cohesion and the “Tiancheng speed” that the mission must achieve.

The equipment is expected to be officially delivered for production in September.
