On the morning of May 5th, the 1780mm production line of Baosteel Desheng Hot-rolling Plant successfully completed the third round of trial production of titanium plates. Titanium is a national strategic new material. Due to the large difference between the thermal processing characteristics of titanium and steel, and the obvious differences in the hot-rolling process system, Baosteel Desheng hot-rolling plant relies on the group's steel-titanium structure and large-scale projects to implement the specific measures of Baowu's strategic iterative upgrading, fully consider the characteristics of its own production line, and take the ultimate use of the hot-rolling process capabilities as the goal guide, and continue to optimize the problems existing in the production process of the first two batches to form Baosteel Desheng titanium's consistent manufacturing technology. In order to ensure the success of the titanium plate rolling, the management, technical and operating personnel of Baosteel Desheng Hot-rolling plant used the “May 1st” holiday period to carefully deploy this round of trial production of titanium plates. The key tasks of this round of thermal processing of titanium plates are large-scale trial production, improved thickness accuracy control, and edge quality control, especially when the four-foot-wide titanium plate is still produced for the first time, detailed processes, measures, and emergency plans for abnormal production conditions have been formulated in terms of production planning, heating furnace switching and steel loading, model setting, slab inspection, and instrument inspection stability. At the same time, the material characteristics of titanium plate rolling are prone to a large number of sparks, and special arrangements and implementation have also been made in terms of fire safety.
A total of 24 titanium plates were continuously produced in this round of trial production, of which the five-foot plate is 6 rolls wide and the four-foot plate is 18 rolls wide. The thickness ranges from 8mm to 4mm and involves multiple specifications. The production process is stable and smooth. The product width and thickness accuracy indicators are good. The meter inspection instrument shows that the quality pass rate is 100%, and the quality of the edges is significantly improved compared to the previous batch, and the black roll yield is more than 99%.
The successful trial production of large-scale and multi-specification titanium plates reflects Desheng's unremitting pursuit of new technologies, new processes, and new skills, and gradually improves the consistent production and manufacturing technology of titanium materials, laying a solid foundation for the landing of the “Steel-titanium combined short-process titanium key technology and series product development” scientific research project in Baosteel Desheng, and laying a solid foundation for promoting the integration of Baowu Steel and titanium.
