Production Introduction

 Hybrid metallic oxide titanium anode, with advantages that other anodes don’t have, is regarded as the most idea and the most promising auxiliary anode material in the present time. In the cathode protection field, the titanium, which is taken as substrate, is easy to process various required shapes and is light in weight, and is capable of making it convenient to carry and mount. External titanium anode for current cathode protection is in strip-shaped or tubular form. The oxide layer with high catalysis activity covered on the surface of the electrode can control the potential of the titanium substrate which is exposed from some defect parts within 2v, so as to avoid breakdown or damage of surface passivating film of the titanium substrate (generally, external voltage is lower than 60v when it is applied in the soil).

Hybrid metallic oxide anode produced by Baoji Ruicheng Titanium Industry Co., Ltd. has excellent physical, chemical and electro-chemical performances, and product standard can be determined depending on customer’s demand. 

Technical parameters: resistivity of coating is 10-7 omegas.m; the anode is extremely resistant to acid environment, low in polarity and comparatively low in consumption; the anode is adapted to various environments such as seawater, freshwater and soil by regulating component of the oxide layer; service life of the hybrid metallic oxide anode is 20 years under working current density of 100A/m2 in ground bed and the consumption speed is about 0.1 mg/A.a; phenomenon of passivating or dissolving is avoided even the current density is 5000A/square meter, thereby stabilizing performance and reducing cost; under protection of surface soil or deep soil container, service life of the cathode protection anode is not less than 20 years under current density of 100A/m2; and service life of the cathode protection titanium anode is not less than 20 years under current density of 600A/m2 with presence of seawater medium. 

Cathodic protection of titanium anode is a kind of used to prevent the metal dielectric (such as sea water, fresh water and soil medium), the electrochemical corrosion protection technology in the basic principle of this technology is to protect metal surfaces exert a certain dc current, make its produce cathodic polarization, the potential of occurring when the metal was a potential value, the corrosion of the anodic dissolution process is effectively suppressed.  According to different cathodic current, cathodic protection is divided into two sacrificial anode and impressed current method, the former is a more negative potential of metal (such as aluminum, magnesium, zinc, etc.) and the protected metal structure of the electrical connections, through the electronegative metal or alloy melting consumption, provide protection to be protected from electrical current, make the metal structure to be protected.  The latter is to convert the external AC current into low voltage direct current, and pass the protective current to the protected metal structure through the auxiliary anode, so as to inhibit corrosion.  Whether sacrificial anode method or impressed current method, its effective and reasonable design and application can obtain good protection effect.  

The combination of Cathodic protection of titanium anode and coating enables the most economical and effective protection of underground or underwater metal structures.  A good coating can protect more than 99% of the outer surface of the structure from corrosion. Underground or underwater metal structures are usually coated with protective coating before use to insulate the metal from the electrical insulation of the dielectric environment.  If the metal structure can achieve complete electrical insulation isolation, the formation of metal corrosion cells in the dielectric will be inhibited, corrosion current will not be generated, so as to prevent metal corrosion.  However, a completely ideal coating layer does not exist. Due to transportation, installation and filling in the construction process, thermal stress and soil stress, aging of the coating and the existence of tiny pinholes in the coating, there will always be some defects in the outer coating of the metal structure, and these defects will eventually lead to local corrosion of the metal.  The combined application of cathodic protection technology and coating can effectively solve this problem.  Cathodic protection on the one hand can effectively prevent coating lesions have corrosion, prolong the service life of coating, coating on the other hand, can greatly reduce the requirement of protection current, improve the protection of current distribution, increase the protection radius, has made it more economic and effective, for the cathodic protection on bare or poor anticorrosion coating of underground or underwater metal structures,  Cathodic protection is even the only alternative means of corrosion protection.
