Titanium Anode Plate

Sodium hypochlorite generators are divided into two categories: sanitation and disinfection and environmental protection according to their usage. The titanium anodes currently produced by our company are used in sanitation and disinfection: sodium hypochlorite generators that are directly related to human health, such as swimming pool disinfection, tableware disinfection, and hygienic food disinfection. In terms of environmental protection, there are mainly hypochlorous acid for hospital sewage treatment and various industrial wastewater treatment.

The principle of producing sodium hypochlorite by the electrode method is to use diaphragm-free electrolysis to generate sodium hypochlorite through a homogeneous secondary chemical reaction. The reaction principle of the anode is to electrolyze the sodium chloride (tablet shape) thrown into the swimming pool. During electrolysis, sodium hypochlorite is formed. The most suitable salt concentration is 3%-5%. The electrodes used in the sodium hypochlorite generator include plate electrodes and tube electrodes. The anode material can be coated titanium electrode. The mixed oxide coated titanium anode has a long service life, and the overpotential of this coated titanium anode is relatively low, the chlorine evolution current efficiency is high, and the energy saving effect is good.

The cathode material is mostly made of stainless steel, pure titanium or titanium alloy. Because stainless steel is in a cathodic polarization state, it can be stable and corrosion-resistant during work, but the electrolyte is highly corrosive. Therefore, after a power failure, the electrolyte should be taken out or released immediately to avoid chemical corrosion. For the hydrogen evolution reaction, iron-based alloys generally have a moderate overpotential, but their corrosion resistance is not as good as that of titanium. Titanium and titanium alloys are more corrosion-resistant, but the current efficiency is lower when preparing NaClO, and the cell voltage is higher.
