The wheelchair is a necessary means of transportation for some elderly people, and like the bicycle, some components of the wheelchair frame can be made of titanium and titanium alloy materials. However, at present, the materials used are mainly aluminum alloy, aluminum matrix composite materials and steel, and titanium alloy materials are rarely used, mainly because of the high price of titanium.

Although the wheelchair has 4 wheels, driving is not good, there will be a risk of tilting, but the frame will not tilting when driving, the blunt frame often leads to 3 wheels touching the ground, and the other suspended, which is because the ground is uneven or the frame is not perfect. Three wheels touching the ground will make straight driving difficult and not easy to maneuver. Reasonable design and manufacture of titanium wheelchairs should have a unique performance of torsion flexibility, easy to operate and drive, in order to alleviate user fatigue.

In the existing more than 120 kinds of titanium alloys, only more than 30 kinds are commonly used in industry. When manufacturing wheelchair structural parts (including screws and nuts), Ti-3Al-2.5V alloy and Ti-15V-3Al-6Cr-4Mn-4Zr alloy are commonly used, the latter is an extremely complex alloy and expensive, but it has good bending properties and low elastic modulus, so it is more flexible and can improve the user's comfort.
