Proper use and maintenance of the titanium anodes

Titanium anode is the anode of oxide coating,the role of metal oxide coating is:  low resistivity, good electrical conductivity (titanium itself has poor electrical conductivity),the chemical composition of the precious metal coating is stable, stable crystal structure, stable electrode size, good corrosion resistance, long service life, good electrocatalytic performance,it is beneficial to reduce the overpotential of oxygen and chlorine evolution reaction and save electric energy.Therefore, in the process of anode use, it is particularly important to pay attention to the protection of the coating on the anode surface. 

Use and maintenance of the titanium anode
After pickling the anode substrate, in the process of processing or using, it is necessary to wear clean gloves stuck at both ends or edges of the anode, try not to touch the coating part, to protect the surface of the coating from any pollution or foreign body scratch. If scratched or damaged, in the process of electrolysis, the anode will first corrode from the damage, thus affecting the use effect of the whole anode.
The electrolyte should be stable, especially without hydrogen and fluorine ions, otherwise it will seriously corrode the titanium matrix.
A filter device should be added before the electrolyte enters the electrolytic cell, which shall not contain more than 0.1mm metal particles, so as not to cause a short circuit of the anode and cathode due to excessive aggregation. 

The cathode attachment should not be too thick, so as to avoid short circuit breakdown of anode and cathode caused by too small pole spacing or sharp metal formation.  

Reasonably adjust the distance between anode and cathode poles, generally 5 to 25mm.

Try to avoid the use of anode in cathode, easy to cause coating off, affect the service life.

When the machine is shut down, try not to soak in the solution in power off mode. It is best to add a small current protection cathode plate of about 5A.  

When pickling or washing the surface of the electrode plate, pay attention to the protection of the surface, can not be washed with sharp objects. 

When the electrolyte is working, the temperature should not be too high, the reasonable temperature is 25-40 degrees Celsius. 
Pay attention to the current density at work and keep it within 2000A per square meter. If the current is too large, the reaction will be intense and the service life of the electrode will be affected.   When loading the current to the electrolytic cell, we must step by step, do not add in place at one time.Also note when shutdown.  

Keep the electrode surface clean, can not be contaminated with oil or other attachments, so as not to affect the electrolytic effect and service life.
