1965, the Netherlands. Dr. Beer invented the nail titanium coated titanium electrode. With titanium metal as matrix, the alcohol solution of nail salt and titanium salt is coated on the surface of titanium matrix, and the salt is decomposed and oxidized through sintering to generate a layer of Ru-tio2 solid solution firmly bonded with titanium matrix. The nail titanium coating electrode is based on valvular titanium metal, and its mechanical strength is high, which overcomes the shortage of shape change of graphite electrode in the process of use, and the electrode material has entered the era of titanium electrode. Titanium electrodes use different properties can be obtained by designing coatings with the different chemical formulations. After nearly half a century of development, titanium electrodes have developed into a vast system.

The full name of titanium anode group is titanium-based oxide coated anode (MMO). The other name is called DSA anode, size and shape stable anode. It takes titanium as the substrate (wire, rod, tube, plate, net), and brushes precious metal coating on the titanium substrate, so that it has good electrocatalytic activity, conductivity, oxidation resistance. Compared with the original graphite anode and lead anode, titanium electrode has the following advantages :1. The electrode size is stable, the distance between electrodes will not change during the process of electrolysis, to ensure that the electrolytic operation is carried out under the condition of stable cell voltage; 2, high catalytic activity, low working voltage 3, low working voltage, so the power consumption is small, DC power consumption can be reduced by 10%- 20%; 4, titanium anode long working life, diaphragm production of chlorine-alkali industry metal anode chlorine and alkali corrosion, anode life has reached more than 5~7 years, and graphite anode only 8 months; 5, can overcome the dissolution of graphite anode and lead anode, avoid the pollution of electrolyte and cathode products, thus greatly improving the purity of metal products; 6, can improve the current density, increase the efficiency of electrolysis;
